The September Issue

For those who want the dishy details about Vogue editor and imperious ice queen Anna Wintour, this terrific documentary certainly delivers. However, in the process, The September Issue shows something much more interesting — how ferociously creative people fight to see their visions realized.

Bring hankies for this thoroughly romantic story of the doomed romance between Fanny Brawne and the English romantic poet John Keats (did I mention it’s romantic?). With beautiful cinematography and fine acting, the movie evokes the 1820-era setting so well that you can almost smell the candle wax and wildflowers.

Zombieland

Zombies have taken over America, and only a handful of “normal” people are left to shoot up the undead and drive around the deserted countryside, trashing souvenir stores and searching for Twinkies. This is the most outrageously irreverent and hilariously fun movie I’ve seen in a long time.
