MARK CARPENTER WINS AD PRO OF THE YEAR AWARD

OMAHA, Neb. (February 13, 2009) SKAR Advertising is proud to announce that Mark Carpenter, one of the firm’s partners and its vice president of creative strategy, has won the 2009 Omaha Federation of Advertising’s Ad Pro of the Year award. It is the third time a SKAR employee has received the honor.

The Ad Pro of the Year award is given to an Omaha Federation of Advertising member who has a distinguished track record of service in advertising including professional and community service, with particular attention to OFA service.

Carpenter has been deeply involved in the Nebraska ADDYs, the OFA’s statewide advertising creative competition, for the past 15 years, usually developing the event’s entertainment. In 2008, Carpenter chaired the entire competition, which turned out to be the most financially successful ADDYs in OFA history. His commitment to mentoring and teaching advertising students is well known in the community. From 1996 to 2003, Carpenter served as an adjunct copywriting professor at Creighton University, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Creative Center in Omaha.

Carpenter was presented the award on Tuesday, February 10th, at a luncheon during the OFA’s Meet the Pros, an advertising networking event for area college students.
